ONGOING DISRUPTION ON ROYAL MAIL INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
As you may have seen in the Press, there is currently a disruption on Royal Mail International orders. On the 12 January 2023, Royal Mail International was the target of what it calls a "cyber incident" (ransomware attack). As a result, it introduced a blanket ban on all international shipping, which is yet to be fully lifted.
Royal Mail assures us that it is working to resolve the problem, with some international services having resumed over the past two weeks. Mail sent with international click and drop service is being processed. However, over a month since the cyber attack, Royal Mail is still not accepting international mail over the counter at Post Offices. Therefore, items that need weighing, tracking and a customs declaration sticker cannot be sent. Royal Mail has not given any time frame for when this problem will be resolved. In the meantime, it asks customers to refrain from sending international mail until a full service resumes. Alternatively, they suggest using Parcel Force Worldwide, which is unaffected by the ransomware cyber attack.
WHAT WE ARE DOING
House of Cally will continue to accept international orders and will use the online click and drop service wherever possible. For our extra large maps, we use international courier services which are unaffected by the Royal Mail ransomware attack. We deeply regret any inconvenience that may arise from this incident.
Any international orders we receive over the coming days will be sent at the earliest possible opportunity. Should you need an item sent urgently, please contact Cally on email@example.com to discuss other forms of delivery.
For customers in the UK, please note that shipping is unaffected. However, with ongoing industrial strike action planned by Royal Mail workers, there may be some further disruption.
